air pressure testing

Air Pressure Testing

Air pressure testing became a statutory requirement under Part L of the UK Building Regulations in April 2002, with an update in April 2006 and the possibility of a further update in 2010. As a result, all residential buildings that pass through the planning and building control processes have to comply with Part L.

The testing, which is carried out across a selection of residential units depending on development size, determines the amount of air leakage in and out of a given building by sealing all planned ventilation openings and measuring air permeability at a given air pressure.

Hann Tucker Associates are pleased to offer air pressure testing services which can be performed in conjunction with pre-completion sound insulation testing in a single visit to reduce costs. The air pressure testing will be undertaken by staff accredited for such testing by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) with results certificates provided on-site following the tests.
